New : Non-Contacting Redundant Angular Position Sensor
MCB adds contact-less to its family of angular position sensors. The newly released NCS line is optimized for reference and feedback signals on industrial and construction machinery, lift trucks and other industrial vehicles.
The mechanical input range covers up to 180° rotation. The NCS is designed for an extended life time (100 M cycles in harsh environment: high resistance to shocks and vibration, IP67 environmental sealing).
Protected against overvoltages and reversed polarity, the NCS accommodates a variety of input voltages (up to 24 volts). The output voltage is 0-5 volts or PWM.
The resolution is 10 bits, and the linearity better than 1%.
The built-in redundancy, combined with mechanical and electrical detection of odd data, offer unsurpassed security features to the user .
The high accuracy and degree of reliability are compatible with the well established MCB range of potentiometers throughout the OEM.

MCB industry presents a new Planar resistor "RCEC 400"
Thanks to its RCEC technology featuring an unparalleled power/size ratio, MCB introduces the 400W Planar Resistor.

This is a new step again in MCB pushing the limits of thick film resistors, this time by reducing the size:
- The RCEC 400 is the most compact 400W resistor available on the market (66x40mm)
- The mounting is compatible with the one of traditional larger size Planar resistors
- It is fixed by only 2 screws, which allows easy mounting on bus bars or printed circuit boards
- Partial discharge, as well as other electrical parameters, are equivalent to the ones of larger size resistors

Planar resistors gain power
By introducing the RCEC 750W, MCB Industrie opens a new era for planar resistors.
This range is a step forward for the increasingly-demanding GTO/IGTC power supplies.

The Planar resistor (also know as thick film resistors) is a concept originally created by MCB Industries in the late 80'S. A resistive film is layed out on a ceramic insulator, and the whole assembly is confined in a housing directly mounted on a cooled heatsink.
Mainly utilized as a "snubber" (aiding circuitry commutation and energy absorption in power circuitry), the resistor offers compactness, and low radiation of energy in the environment of the device.

MCB Industrie's RCEC range is broadly utilized in high-energy commuting circuitry including: HVDC Power Supplies, SVC, CVS, medical instrumentation.
MCB Industries maintains its leadership on the market thanks to a significant technological gap versus alternatives, yielding:
- Unsurpassed power/size ratio (750 watts in 67x60x15 mm)
- A 50% better absorbance of impulse energy
- Even-spread pressure of the conducting part against the cooling element, ensuring a better thermal dissipation and life time, thanks to its unique clamping device
- High performance in partial discharge

The additional reliability generated by this increased power has already generated a great interest in several test-applications. This component has been approved by several leaders in the field of energy conversion.

A new production plant for sheathed resistors

MCB inaugurates a new section in its Château-Gontier plant.

Following its last year's acquisition of TEEN, well established in the railway business with a range of sheathed resistors, MCB Industrie strengthens its position as a leader in High Power Resistors.
This type of resistors is well suited for heaters (railway cars, industrial ovens, ..) and energy dissipation in low voltage environments.
The production process of a sheathed resistor includes 4 critical steps:
- Fabrication of the resistive part by integrating a wirewound element in a steel tubing
- Insulate this element by filling with magnesia
- Compacting by rolling mills
- Add connectors and shape the resistor

MCB supplies single resistors or assemblies and heaters.

Those different step are all integrated in MCB Industrie's facility, in a process control and quality insurance environment which suit our customer's demand: MCB Industrie, ISO 9001 certified, is homologated by a number of industrial and railway OEM's).

MCB Industrie has dedicated more than 1200 meters foot (including a two stores unit and 12 meter high towers) allowing the production of up-to-6 meter long resistors.
